Postlets now owned by Zillow… and free

If you’ve ever looked at or listed apartments or homes for sale on Craigslist, its pretty much a given that you’ve come across an ad created by Postlets. The service allows you to create a sharp looking listing for a property and syndicate it to a number of different property websites. It even helps to create a custom Craigslist listing. While the free version of the service was certainly useful, to take full advantage of all the features, a monthly subscription fee was required. Personally, that kept me from using it. But it might be time to reconsider because quick on the healing of the announcement that Zillow has purchased Postlets, came news that Zillow will be opening up all the services features for free.

While it seems that the initial phase is simply an “opening up” of the existing Postlets service, it will be interesting to see the kind of integration Zillow can achieve. Like them or not, there is no denying that Zillow has been on the forefront of pushing the limits of real estate on the web. Maybe they can push that a little further. In the meantime, enjoy those free Postlets.
