It seems like the “powers that be” in Jefferson City are at least playing lip-service in the effort to help revitalize St. Louis City. With their help the long discussed, sometimes pipe-dream of a project, known as the Chouteau Greenway (or Chouteau Lake District), might just be back on the table.
FPSE Drury Hotel still a go
With a sluggish economy, talks of large-scale development projects often vanish from the local conversation. Considering this consistent trend, it was a safe bet that the proposed plans for two 16-story Drury Hotels in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood would end up in development limbo. According to the folks at Drury, however, this project could [...]
Jefferson Ave Bridge reopening
It’s still hard for me to believe that it has taken more time to rebuild this bridge that it has to finish Phase 1 of the Highway 40 (I-64) project, but the Jefferson Bridge is almost finished. The Post Dispatch is reporting that two lanes of the bridge will be opened on December 15th with [...]
Highway 40 closure finally getting attention
I posted a blurb a couple weeks back about the lack of attention the closure of the second phase of the Highway 40 highway project is getting. Looks the the Post Dispatch finally took notice of this too. Kind of a self fulfilling prophecy coming from them since they really haven’t been giving the issue [...]
Highway 40 closure date official
The Post Dispatch is reporting that the reopening or Phase 1 and the closure of Phase 2 of the Highway 40-61 (I-64) project will be December 15th. Not quite as early as some predicted, but still two weeks early. The folks over at METRO should take notes on that performance. For more on the project [...]

This past January the St. Louis area was braced for the worst. With the pending shutdown of Highway 40-61 (I-64 if you prefer) from 170 to 270, everyone was changing their driving habits in anticipation of the change. It turns out that the impact was less than expected. So much less that many people have [...]
